ORLANDO, Fla. – The League of Women Voters of Florida is offering the nonpartisan election resource VOTE411.org. VOTE411.org’s unique function of completed candidate questionnaires, which are completed by both state legislature and numerous local race candidates, is now live. The site’s functions allow voters to access all candidates that will appear on their primary ballot by providing a street address and their political party affiliation. VOTE411 is a “one-stop shop” for election information that provides simple, easy to use tools and information to help Florida voters navigate the voting process.
VOTE411 helps millions of voters each year—many of them young people and first-time voters—learn about candidate stances, look up what’s on their ballot, find their polling place, and more. VOTE411 has been a premiere voting resource since its launch in 2006. During the 2018 election cycle, VOTE411 was promoted by John Oliver on HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” and celebrities like Amy Schumer and America Ferrera. In May 2020, VOTE 411 was awarded a Government and Civil Innovation Award from the Webby Awards.
“Voters in Florida need simple, accessible tools to help them navigate the voting process before they go to vote,” said Patricia Brigham, President of the Florida League. “We are pleased to provide this important, nonpartisan resource to Florida’s voters, and encourage everyone to visit VOTE411 to make a voting plan so they are prepared to cast their vote confidently whether it be mail-in ballot, early or on election day.”
The League of Women Voters of Florida is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
VOTE411, which is owned by the League of Women Voters Education Fund, is committed to ensuring voters have the information they need to successfully participate in every election. Whether it’s local, state or federal, every election is important to ensuring our laws and policies reflect the values and beliefs of our communities.
