Patricia Pat Plummer is past co-president of the League of Women Voters of Collier County and currently serves as a director on the board and chair of the Education Committee. In these roles she has been active with the League Leadership Program, the Development and Outreach Committee, the Know Your County Government Program for county high school students and the LWVFL Education Action Committee. In her professional career Pat had several roles in state and national education policy. She was a professor of Nutrition and university administrator and served in government as the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, overseeing 29 public higher education institutions and serving on state boards for Elementary and Secondary Education and Early Education and Childcare. In these roles Pat worked on education policy issues and on teams that consulted in several foreign countries. She earned her undergraduate degree at Framingham State University in Massachusetts and earned a master’s in nutrition at Tufts University and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Boston College. Pat moved to Naples, Florida in 2012 with her husband Larry and they summer on Cape Cod with her two children and five grandchildren.
